Navratra Mela: Several trains to halt at Vindhyachal

North Central Railway is making extensive arrangements at Vindhyachal, the abode of Goddess Vindhyavasini, for the upcoming Navratra Mela beginning October 13. Devotees from across the country visit the place to pay obeisance at the shrine of Vindhyavasini Devi.

ALLAHABAD: North Central Railway is making extensive arrangements at Vindhyachal, the abode of Goddess Vindhyavasini, for the upcoming Navratra Mela beginning October 13. Devotees from across the country visit the place to pay obeisance at the shrine of Vindhyavasini Devi.
Additional ticket booking counters would be set up during the mela that would conclude on October 23.

Besides, several important trains passing through the area would also halt at the station during the Navratra period.
Talking to TOI, NCR Allahabad division’s SK Srivastava said “A number of pilgrims throng Vindhyavasini shrine during the Navratra period. We are taking steps to augment facilities at the Vindhyachal station. Five additional ticket counters will be opened to cater to large number of passengers. One PRS counter will remain operational round-the-clock during the mela period. Arrangement for train enquiry has been made at Gol Ghar circulating area. In addition to this, Scouts and Guides volunteers will also be present at the station to guide passengers and help them.”
Security too has been upgraded with deployment of additional contingent of Railway Protection Force (RPF). Paramedics would be available round-the-clock to provide medical to passengers, he said.
The trains that would have a 2-minute halt at the railway station during the Navratra period are: Bangalore City-Patna Sanghamitra Express (12295/12296), Puri-New Delhi Puroshattam Express (12801/12802), Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Patna Superfast Express (12141/12142), Howrah-Jodhpur Express (12307/12308), Anand Vihar Terminal-Jogbani Express (12487/12488), Dibrugarh-Delhi Brahmaputra Express (14055/14056), Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Guwahati Express (15645/15646), Bhagalpur- Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express (12335/12236) and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Varanasi Express (12167/12168).
Besides, two additional general coaches would be attached to Allahabad-Chunar passenger (54103/54104) from October 13 to 23.
Railway administration has also made arrangements for Chitrakoot Pitrapakasha Amavasya Mela. Two special trains would be plied between Jhansi and Chitrakoot while one special train would run between Kanpur and Chitrakoot from October 11 to 14. Bundelkhand Express (11107/11108) would halt at Bahilpurwa, Shivrampur, Badausa, Khiarada and Ranipoor Road railway stations from October 11 to 14. Mahakaushal Express (12189/12190) would stop for 2 minutes at stations of Shivrampur, Bharatkoop and Khurhand.
